Throwback hearts
sewn with silken threads
of hope and faith
from an earlier
innocent age
rip up primal soil
and dig deep
to plant seeds anew
in a garden grown
with modern care
Everything is turquoise
everything is yellow
everything is sunshine
everything is high tide
everything is ocean air
everything is oysters
bursting from their shells
I saw you leaning
calm
casual
and cool
against the wall
playing tricks
in a crystal mirror
with glances
that divined
our future
in full detail
flashing bright lights
into my eyes
across the distance
burning eternal love
into my heart
with just one look
I felt you dance
in a feathered bed
of roaring romance
as a laugh that melted
my bones to marrow
leapt from the depths
of your molten core
Now I need your kiss
ever more
with morning bliss
and nighttime glistening
of moon
today
tomorrow
and always
after
